Kelsi Poole set up desks in a schoolhouse-sized building Thursday morning for Trinity Valley’s corn maze, which will include farm education and activities for children.

“I think the kids will have a lot of fun in here,” she said, and the corn maze is one of the few activities in the past six months not canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Trinity Valley corn maze will be open Sept. 12 to Oct. 31. Owner Branden Brown said he was concerned about opening the maze during the pandemic, but received clearance from the Cortland County Health Department.

“We’ve set parameters in place for people’s safety,” he said. “We’re doing what we have to do and we hope people will understand. It’s not exactly what it was last year but nothing else is.”

Masks will be required because there’s no way to guarantee people will stay socially distanced, he said.
